According to Japanese Apple blog Macotakara, a site that's acquired a decent track record on Apple rumors, the 2017 version of the flagship device will be available in a red casing option. It was also the first to float rumors of the removal of the head-phone jack in the i phone 7.
That news, of course, wound up being best shown (and a very big deal).
Along with the new color, the report either verifies or quashes other gossips which have been floated through good news cycle.
Claiming to have information from a source with an in with Apple's supplier in Taiwan, the report states the 2017 iPhone will be the "iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S As well as, the updated version of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. "
Also the leak claims the basic design of the handset remains the same and the primary update will be a new cpu, the A11 chip. Incredibly specifically, sources declared the 7S design "does not appear to get together with either the wireless fee or glass chassis. inch
Before this leak, others have claimed familiarity with next year's iPhones, possibly (notably without the S) with curved glass screens, OLED displays and wireless recharging capabilities.
This is big news for Apple followers. With all the color lineup as it stands currently (jet black, black, silver, went up gold and gold), the iPhone would use another daring burst of color.
The one wrinkle in the news is what might happen with the PRODUCT(RED) campaign going forward. In the event that red turns into a fixture in the i phone lineup, special edition products could have to find a new color. Or perhaps at least a new shade.
