In December we evaluated Fitbit’s Charge and said it turned out soon to be improved with the addition of a heart rate sensor. And here it truly is, with a slightly modified name: Charge HR.
An original is now just £20 lower than a virtually identical model boasting a desirable extra feature, making that quite the unattractive solution. One could cynically imagine that’s why it turned out launched just before Christmas along with the HR held back until now.
On the surface the revolutionary version is almost identical: a comfortably stretchy rubberised straps, a small but legible white-on-black screen and also a single button to scroll over the various features.
Just just like the Charge, this button is easily pressed unintentionally. I occasionally accidentally started recording a run, whether or not I was just lounging within the sofa or jostling for position within the Tube. Not a massive problem, but an periodic irritation.
