Shazam is a cell phone app that uses audio recognition technology to help people identify music. Furthermore, it features personalised music media, and features suggested tunes from friends and designers. It recently become among the first UK technology start-ups to achieve a valuation of $1bn (£660m) right after securing $30m of new investment from a collection of unnamed parties.
