Once more, Facebook's being recognized as a wonderful location to work. Glassdoor's total annual list ranks it as the number one tech company to work for, based on the last year in staff reviews.
Lori Goler, having worked at Facebook since 2008 and is their "Head of People, inch is, of course, one of the people the company can thank for that. She's overseen Facebook's growth from 500 employees to more than 18, 500 across 50 office buildings in 30 countries.
The twelve-monthly list isn't the sole ranking she will take into account for private job satisfaction, though -- Facebook conducts its own internal reviews and studies. And according to those, there's a lot to like about working at Facebook.
But a few common themes resonate, your woman said.
"People who work here tell us that having an impact is absolutely important to them, so being in a role that has great impact is important to them, " Goler told Mashable. "I think they will notify you that having the chance to do work they enjoy and play to their strengths is important to them and that folks really like to learn and grow. "
For all those thinking about a job at Facebook, Mashable asked Goler how to hack the interview process and what she loves about working at the tech company. The interview has recently been edited for clarity.
We want to am employed at Facebook or myspace. What do I do first?
The first thing for those who are thinking about working at Facebook is very understanding what it's like to work on Facebook. I find that a lot of people, almost all the individuals who come to act on Facebook, really feel linked to the mission of the organization to make the world more open and connected. They've either experienced an experience themselves with Facebook or a family member or the way they keep in touch with friends a long way away, or they've been exposed to the effect of Fb in the world that is certainly meaningful to them in some manner.
For the university crowd, we have a great internship program that's an important part of getting to know Facebook. We're always specifically excited when we have an opportunity to meet women or other underrepresented minorities who are studying computer research in school. It's an important part of what we believe we need to keep on this objective.
We're capable to have this program that we call Facebook University that is perfect for students who are on early side of their university experience. We all find a lot of them eventually visit this page full-time. It's building long-term relationships with students.
What's a perk that might not be evident to someone looking from the outside?
A reason a lot of men and women love coming to Facebook is the other folks at Facebook . com. I think they find that they're constantly pushed. They're in a position where they're really almost never the smartest person in the room, where they're really learning and growing from the people around them.
